More by Design are situated in the centre of town almost opposite The Bell Inn. It is a large 2 storey building housing many rooms and a garden all of which are filled with an array of design led delights most of which can be customised to your requirements. Sofas, chairs and head boards can be covered in any fabric. Rugs and cushions can be made to your design or re coloured for you. We have deckchairs director's chairs and tennis chairs with numerous designs and colours. Lampshades can be made to order. We also have a few carefully restored pre loved pieces.

Nestling just off the A31 between Winchester and Alton, Alresford (pronounced Allsford) is a beautiful Georgian Town, which for many centuries was a prosperous wool town. The town has many colour-washed Georgian houses which date back to the great fires in the 17th Century. Voted Country Life's 'Favorite Market Town' in the south-east it has specialist shops selling rugs, cushions, stylish furniture, antiques, gifts, quality food, clothes for all ages, antiquarian books, pictures, china and crafts.

About Alresford

The Town has plenty of very cheap car parking and with great pubs, hotels, restaurants and tea rooms, your trip will be a pleasant one. A visit to the Watercress steam railway that runs from Alresford to Alton through 10 miles of beautiful Hampshire countryside is a must. The Station in the centre of town has been lovingly restored. Alresford is the perfect place for strolling with lots to see - The Fulling Mill and Eel House along the riverside walk, St. John's Parish Church, the Millennium Trail and Old Alresford Pond, created by Bishop de Lucy, Bishop of Winchester, in the 12th century.Old Alresford is mentioned in the Doomsday Book but the present town of New Alresford did not come into existence much before 1200 at the time when the Great Weir was being built to create Old Alresford Pond as a reservoir for the Mills along the Itchen.
